A Few Guidelines Regarding Mold Inspection And Removal

CCPAdmin · February 26, 2014 · Leave a Comment

Does your home have a mold problem? You may not think it does, but you would be surprised if you had your entire home evaluated by a mold inspection team to get the facts. Are you willing to find out? If you’re familiar with the EPA, they would tell you how dangerous and damaging indoor mold can be. Furthermore, they would tell you that the majority of homes have a mold problem.

Did you know that mold doesn’t cause everyone to experience symptoms? In fact, just because you’re not getting sick from mold doesn’t mean that there isn’t a major mold problem that is damaging your home. When there is one, don’t think you’re going to run to your insurance company in order to get them to do something about the problem.

Insurance companies don’t usually cover mold problems, which means you’re on your own. However, there is usually an option for you to opt for mold insurance if you want to have it included in your homeowners insurance policy. If you live in a climate where mold can be a problem, then you might want to have this type of coverage. Where I live, we need mold insurance and it is included in our coverage. Our condos are on the ocean, but while we have this insurance, the deductible is rather high.

Mold is only one part of the problems that homeowners can have when it comes to indoor air quality. When you have seen mold, remember that you must use proper cleanup methods so that you’re not spreading the mold. Many people try to clean up the mold without actually identifying or remedying the source of the mold. This must be done, or you’re just going to keep dealing with mold over and over again.

Why Get Professional Carpet Cleaning

CCPAdmin · May 3, 2013 · Leave a Comment

When it comes to doing household chores, there’s a lot of work to be done. There’s all the mopping and the dusting, of course. There’s trying to keep the windows clean, and of course there’s the vacuuming.

However, even if you work hard to keep a clean house, it’s occasionally a great idea to get some professional carpet cleaning done. There are a number of reasons for this, most of which boil down to the fact that things build up over time. Even if you make sure you’re doing the cleaning regularly, over time things can collect and build up.

This is especially true of carpets. Even if you managed to do the vacuuming on a daily basis (and who manages to do that?), you still have dust, dirt, and dead skin cells that drop off your body. With each step taken, those things get ground further and more firmly into the roots of the carpet fibers. Because they’re ground so firmly, they’re impossible to clean up with simple vacuuming.

Professional carpet cleaners have fancy machines and strong cleaning solutions, and can get that stuff cleaned up in no time. They’re able to use their fancy machines and strong cleaning solutions to steam and shampoo the carpet, leaving it as clean and soft as the day it was first installed. This is a great benefit, because it means you won’t have to deal with the various allergens that can come from not keeping your carpet clean.

There are some people who think they can simply rent a carpet shampoo machine from the local grocery store. It would be cheaper to do so, which means that it must be a better option. However, that is not the case! The real truth is that any machine the grocery store rents out isn’t going to be very high quality. Plus, you have to supply your own cleaning solution, which costs more money.

For these reasons, getting the carpet cleaned professionally is the best idea.

Simple Tile Cleaning Tips

Let’s face it. Cleaning tiles is not the most enjoyable thing to do but a necessity to maintain a clean and beautiful looking home. Knowing this, if you are first considering the choice of tiles such as in a new home build or remodeling, be sure to factor in the part of how easy or hard the tile will be to clean later when selecting them. Tile cleaning doesn’t have to be difficult and knowing a few things we will discuss here can make it a bit easier.

Depending on the area which contains tiles, will usually dictate the amount of dirt that will accumulate. Public floors that are frequently walked on need at least weekly maintenance and places like the kitchen, where oil can accumulate should require at minimum a slight daily wash to prevent any buildup. Tile cleaning can become burdensome when dirt is allowed to accumulate so avoiding this as much as possible is highly recommended. Simple soap and water should suffice the majority of the time.

Address tile damage as soon as possible since the environment tiles are normally located would lead to more damage which can extend to neighboring tiles. The type of tiles as mentioned earlier will make a difference in how much this progresses. Grout, which is porous also has a tendency to absorb dirt more easily so sometimes visual inspection alone is not enough to determine if cleaning is necessary. Just keep a consistent cleaning schedule that accounts for possibility of increased dirt buildup.

Despite cleaning religiously, it is still recommended to have a tile cleaning professional take a look at your tiles and grouts. Hidden microbes can harbor pathogens where you can’t see them and having these areas professionally cleaned can ensure that won’t happen. The added benefit of their services will be the application of a sealant, which will then help prevent further rapid accumulation of more dirt.

As you can see, cleaning tiles doesn’t have to be hard. Just keep consistent in taking care of the more trafficked areas of the home and employ the services of a professional whenever necessary.

There are many parts of the house that make it feel like a home, and one of the most important is the carpet. This soft flooring can really make or break a house, which is why it needs to be taken care of regularly. However, things happen and eventually you will find a stain on it. Depending on the type, you may have to employ different techniques to get it removed. Keep reading to learn more about basic carpet stain removal.

Light carpet stains can be taken care of with a salt-vinegar mixture. Just dissolve two tablespoons of salt into 1/2 cup of plain white vinegar. Rub this solution into the carpet, allow it to dry, and then vacuum the stain.

Most medium stains in the carpet can be removed by using an ammonia solution. By mixing 1/2 gallon of warm water with 1 cup of ammonia, you can easily sponge this mixture onto the stains on your carpet. Allow it to dry completely, and then reapply if necessary.

Eliminate large and dark stains with a borax salt-vinegar mixture. Mix the salt-vinegar mixture mentioned above and add a couple tablespoons of borax. It is used the same way as the plain mixture.

To get rid of carpet stains that have dirt or something that is tough and hard to get out, you can use a vinegar-cornstarch mixture. Simply mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with a tablespoon of plain vinegar, and rub that into the stain using a dry cloth. Leave it for a couple days, then vacuum the spot.

There are many other basic methods for getting rid of specific stains in the carpet, but these are some of the most common and versatile. Using these methods can help keep your carpet in good shape. Knowing how to remove many stains and being mindful of your carpet when you use something that can stain can help it look luxurious and last for a long time.
